Our Track Spotlight from 2016

Run by the PGMA the Prince George Track is one that most people have nothing but good to talk about. When I asked Andrew Forbes for his title with the club his response was “wannabe motocrosser”. I know from speaking to others he is actually a big part of the hard work that goes into running a track and is quick to give credit to the others that help him. Below are some questions Andrew answered for us about Prince George:PG Track

MCQMX - What are the things riders love most about your track?

Andrew - Challenging natural contour and terrain.

MCQMX - What are some of the challenging aspects of the track and what type of soil does it consist of?

Andrew - Hard packed ground conditions can be challenging with our primary base being clay, however we have been progressively introducing sandy loam and bark mulch.

MCQMX - What would you like riders and families to know about your track or area that you think would encourage them to come to your MCQMX Event date

Andrew - We believe that we have the best natural terrain along with the best spectator viewing opportunities.

Pettis at PGWe were also able to catch up with Jess Pettis who has quickly earned some big respect on a national level as a top contender in the pro class. Jess rode his way to a 9th overall in the lites class and combined points got him a national number 20 for 2016 and if we know Jess he will be on the gas to bring that number down this year. Jess is no stranger to riding the Prince George Track as it is home for him and he had this to say about his nearest moto playground “The Prince George Track has lots to offer, elevation changes, good pitting area with a view of the whole track. 40 brand new cement start gates and a recent makeover that added 30 seconds a lap.”

We hope you are as excited as we are about heading up to Prince George for July 9th & 10th, 2016. We even suggest you make a holiday of it and stick around for Billy Barker days and the final rounds North and South in Quesnel, BC. I am sure we could talk these tracks into some practices in between.
